Meet Fern!

This sweetheart has a gentle, easygoing personality and loves attention. She would do great in a home that has kids and other dogs. At this time cats are unknown.

Fern is very sweet. Loves to cuddle and give kisses to anyone willing to take them.
She's been great with kids.
She does great in the car.
Loves her food and sits very pretty for treats.
She does a good job of letting you know when it's time to go out. She'll stand by the door or circle the area by the door.
She loves to be outside. If you get anywhere near the door she's right there ready to go.
She goes in her kennel very easily and does well all day by herself
She appears a little nervous meeting another dogs at first. She let's out a little growl to show she's not scared so dog parks won't be a good environment for her.
She does very well with her foster sibling. They can often be found wrestling and chasing each other around the house.
Fern has been known to jump fences, so she may need a tie out when outdoors regardless if there is a fence if not under a watchful eye.
Fern does have a high energy level and will need daily exercise to keep her energy in check. She seems to do best with a fenced yard and another dog to romp with. In her previous home there wasn't another dog and Fern did not thrive in that environment.

*Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
