Just Arrived

Peaches camefrom a rural puppy mill. She had never lived a day of her life as a normal pet in a home, with the love and attention a pet deserves. She likely spent 24 hours a day in a crate, where she had to eat, sleep and potty. It is possible she had never even been petted in her life. Thank goodness she has been rescued from that life.

MARS has partnered up with a great facility, that used to be an impound facility and is now a rescue. Many puppy mill breeders bring their unwanted dogs to this facility. This rescue ensures every dog that leaves there is spayed or neutered and fully vetted. In addition, they spend time with each of the dogs to begin their socialization, and to get them used to human interaction. This extra care and attention gives these dogs a great jump start to becoming a beloved family pet. Now they need our help to find homes for these cuties so they have openings to help more dogs in need.

Peaches has a deformed front leg that curls under her body. She gets around just fine, and it does not require medical attention. She is a bit timid, but craves attention. She has begun working on potty training, but is not completely potty trained. She will continue to need help with socialization and adjusting to life in a home environment. Fenced yards and a home with other stable dogs to show them the ropes are best for dogs coming from this type of situation. We have secured a foster home to help this sweet girl adjust to normal home life.

Peaches is a total sweetheart. She loves to sit on my lap and follows me around the house. She is also coming along on her potty training but isn't eager to go out in the cold either. She gets along fine with the other dogs but doesn't seem too interested in interacting or playing with them. She loves bed time when she can sleep on my bed with me.
