Update on Felix AKA Chopper

For the life of me I cannot understand why this adorable guy was given back
to the shelter?? He is so sweet, and lovey. Just look at his face!!

Chopper loves to play in the yard; chasing and wrestling the other dog,
playing fetch with the stick and napping in the shade. When he is really
excited he does jump up and down a bit but we’re working on that. So far he
doesn't seem to be hyper or overly active; Moderate / normal amount of
energy.

He is so calm inside the house. He lies down and just watches me clean and
cook. He is house broken, knows the basic commands and is free to roam the
house. Chopper loves to snuggle and to be pet. He doesn't even make a peep
at night (he and my female shepherd sleep on the area rug by each other
under the dining room table).

He does have a little hitch in his giddy up (left front leg). We’re having
it looked at this week, but it doesn't seem to be causing him any pain or
slow him down any when he’s playing, running, or getting up and down. He
can get up and down the 2-3 steps to get to the yard no problem but shows
no desire in going up a full flight of stairs to get to the TV room or my
room.

Chopper is such a wonderful little guy and is ready for his forever home!!

This beautiful boy was returned to the shelter because he was young. Yep you heard that right! They did not realize that a young German Shepherd boy would have energy. He did LOVE the grandkids that came over and played and we believe he would do well in a home with kids. He is good with other dogs and is indifferent to cats. He would be a great dog for any family that understands he is a young guy.

When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.

Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks.

Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.
